"Panic-buying" is a phrase that describes the act of purchasing vital resources, such as food and water, in larger-than-normal quantities, in response to a disaster or crisis, or in the face of a potential shortage of a product. While sometimes misused to describe prepping, panic-buying is more of an impulsive decision to purchase out of fear of going without a product, where as prepping is more of a strategic and calculated purchase of a product with a specific long-term plan for its usage.
