Bugging out

Bugging out - in regards to prepping - is relocating from your home to a more secure location. This is typically done in an emergency situation where your home is no longer safe due to riots or natural disasters such as hurricanes. A "bug-out bag" is prepared expedite your departure and provide you with essential items during the trip.

If your home is secure enough or can be made secure enough, then bugging in is preferable.
